Last night (Saturday) saw the premier of the Hallmark Channel's 'NORTHPOLE'. And the Lowcountry saw one of its own making her debut in the beautiful Christmas movie. Candice Glover, a St. Helena Island native and season 12 winner on American Idol, portrays a member of the gospel choir and a member of the Mayor's staff. Playing the part of Josephine, her vocals are flawless as she performs "O Christmas Tree" and "Silent Night".
This film captures the joy of the holiday season and the determination of a young boy and his new friend (an elf named Clementine) to bring back the joy that powers the Northpole and to restore Greenwood Park to its beautiful Christmas tree lighting and ice skating park. Check your local listings for the repeat times for the 'NORTHPOLE'.
I love the Hallmark Channel at Christmas time and with 12 new movies they can be viewed through December. Young and old alike will enjoy these festive holiday stories.
