Beaufort - "Small Town We Love"

In June 2014, Southern Living Magazine honored Beaufort, South Carolina as the "Small Town We Love."  I am inclined to say that truer words may have never been written about an area in the Lowcountry. Beaufort is called home by thousands of young adults, families, retirees, fishermen, artists, movie makers and Mom and Pop businesses.  So whether you are looking for a new location or just visiting, Beaufort may just be the niche you have been looking for.

Stroll down the main street where you will be greeted with a smile and a friendly southern hello.  Beaufort and its people make you feel at home when shopping, dining, visiting one of our historic venues or just relaxing on our waterfront.  The main street (Bay Street) and the side streets are full of unique shops that are mainly owned by locals and it is their aim to make you feel like family.

As you stroll past the shops, you may be taken by surprise as you see water bowls out in front - yes, Beaufort is pet friendly and they too are welcome.  Now how often do you find this - makes you smile doesn't it. Feeling a need to sit a spell - park benches are positioned in front of store fronts for your much needed rest.

There is so much more to Beaufort, so follow us here on New2Beaufort and we will keep you posted on what to do and see and where to go. Our enticingly, beautiful community, with its Antebellum homes, lush waterfronts, million dollar water views and mature trees draped in low hanging moss, will take you back to a time in history.
